ABOUT

Hello! I'm Mrs. Lewis.  I've been teaching for eleven years. I spent my first three years teaching at a small school. Now I'm back home teaching Survey of Business, Digital Marketing, and Computer Science.

It's my goal to help create productive citizens in our community. So I treat my classroom as a workplace. Everyone has a role and is a part of a business group. My teaching style is structured, yet I want the students to become independent and understand how to find  solutions. I enjoy laughing and having a good time, but when it's time to work.....we work!

I created this website because I enjoy planning, creating, and sharing lessons. I hope that you find something helpful on the site, and if you have anything you would like to share, please feel free to email me!

When I'm not teaching I also fill the roles of FBLA adviser,  In Our Shoes advisor,  Parental Involvement coordinator and Prom coordinator.

Great Teachers

A great teacher will keep the students wanting to come to school just to see what interesting things they will explore and discover each day. We call this inquiry.

When Students Are Traumatized, Teachers Are Too

When you’re learning to be a teacher, you think it’s just about lesson plans, curriculum, and seating charts,” said Garcia. “I was blindsided by the emotional aspect of teaching—I didn’t know how to handle it. I was hurt by my students’ pain, and it was hard for me to leave that behind when I went home.”

Guiding Students To Be Comfortable With Public Speaking â€‹

Public speaking is a legitimate fear for many people. I’m not afraid of public speaking, but I am afraid of snakes. If someone forced me into a room with snakes to pass a course, I would be terrified, and I would fail. This is how some students feel about public speaking.
